Abalone Shell Necklace

This little Abalone shell is one of the only pieces I made a lost wax of the real thing. I found the shell in a rock pool and made a mould. It was just exquisitely beautiful as it was and its 35mm long by 21mm wide so I've just made it into a pendant as I found it. It's polished silver and oxidized black so you get to see all its character. Black 4mm neoprene rubber is what the necklace is made of which is a hardy every day material without taking the attention away from the shell. I've made my classic hook and catch so its strong and safe and can be worn anywhere any time.

As I'm a bit of a conservationist I'd like to donate 10% of the proceeds of this piece and the entire SALT collection to save the reef foundation. The Australian Government is hell bent on allowing up to 100 million tonnes of seabed to be dredged in Reef World Heritage waters, to make way for 4 new mega ports, serviced by up to 7,000 industrial ships crossing the Reef. This is so they can sell dirty coal and gas to the rest of the world.
Thanks a million for your support xx
